Urologist and professor at CHU Bordeaux

Franck Bladou is currently in charge of Onco-Urology at the Pellegrin University Hospital in Bordeaux. He joined this team in 2018 after a distinguished career at the Assistance Publique des Hôpitaux de Marseille (APHM) and the Jewish General Hospital de Montréal.

Franck Bladou was a University Professor-Hospital Practitioner at APHM from 1990 to 2010, where he headed the Urology department of the Sainte Marguerite Hospital and the Uro-Oncology unit at the Paoli-Calmettes Institute. He then held similar positions at McGill University and the Jewish General Hospital in Montreal from 2010 to 2018, and held the Herbert Black Chair in Oncological Surgery.

An expert in urological cancers, her research focuses on prostate cancer markers, minimally invasive treatments (robotic surgery, brachytherapy) and quality assurance of treatments. He has played a key role in the development of new diagnostic and treatment techniques, including diagnostic imaging and high-intensity ultrasound focused treatment.
